Kimberly Rider...{Eco- Chic Designer}

Kimberly Rider who has been featured on HGTV and recently in Traditional Home, is a designer whose style promotes an Eco-Chic lifestyle! I must admit...I've only recently learned about Rider, but I am fast becoming a fan. She seems to be on her way to becoming a conglomerate whose goal is to create beautiful spaces, and at the same time help the masses be more environmentally conscientious...and I love it.  On top of being a great designer, she has also created her own line of  amazing bedding, pillows, and other accessories. But here is the thing I love the most, she has written a couple of books that promote her ideals of living an eco-friendly lifestyle. Thanks Kimberly!

Hollywood Style... by Melissa Warner

Melissa Warner is described as an up-and-coming interior designer by House Beautiful. Check out the pics below as featured on the mag's website, and read the full article online. I agree; her clean lines mixed in with art deco inspired pieces evokes an old Hollywood glamour. I find it inspirational that her design seems effortless, but at the same time, I am well aware that such great work takes a lot of effort. Love it! What are your thoughts?

Face Primer

Prime before you put foundation on your face....it may sound weird and maybe even funny, but I can assure you it will make a great deal of difference - well, it has for me.  I use NP Set Pore Perfecting Pre-Foundation Primer I purchased from Target. What differences have I noticed? First, my pores are minimized, but I must admit my pores were/are not an issue for me. Second, and most important, my make-up lasts a lot longer. This has always been a huge issue for me, and it is the only reason I looked into purchasing a pre-foundation primer.

This has worked wonders when it comes to making my foundation last longer. I'm completely happy with the results

Magnificent Monday

DKNY ~ elegance, simplicity, classic ~Only a few adjectives that come to mind when the fashion conscientious hears the name Donna Karen. As most of you may already know, I am a Californian...and even though Donna Karen is synonymous with New York, her ideals speak to my sense of style, which mostly evokes a California casual-chic. In essence, I'm in love with what Donna Karen has continually created and evolved throughout the years. The following are only a few of her items that would make any Monday Magnificent:

Continue with the Inspiration; Fabulous Rooms. Enjoy!

From House Beautiful, find inspiration in the following:
My favorite thing to see in interior design is the juxtaposition of genres: traditional elements with a twist of modern or whimsy. I love the whimsy in a hot pink color on the wall and a sea shell under a highly traditional entry table; traditional white cabinetry, antique stools and a hanging light side-by-side- modern appliances in a kitchen;  wing chairs along with other classical elements such as urns, settee...with a dash of modern in the addition of a small acrylic end table; and finally a modern bathroom with symmetrical lines all around but enhanced with the traditional when an arrangement of the classical white rose is added.

NIMLI; In Honor of Earth Day

Today is Earth Day.
And in Honor of Earth Day, I also honor those who make it a bit easier for all of us to be more conscientious of our EARTH. Nimli is an online store whose products are natural, organic, and support a green lifestyle. The following are only a few products that caught my eye, and emulate the California casual style I so enjoy and love.

Street Food Vendors...I'm Thinking About It.

Gourmet. com is featuring some of the best food vendors in major cities such as Los Angeles. I must admit while watching other shows, such as Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, dishes prepared by street vendors sure looks appetizing. I haven't tried street vendor food...yet...and maybe next time I'm near the mid-Whilshire area in Los Angeles, I may just have to try some Kogi BBQ

Turquoise ~ It is cool enough for summer but hot enough to call attention...anyone's attention.
When it come to fashion, a turquoise necklace looks sharp with white flowy pants and a simple white tank top...AND it can look stunningly dramatic against a simple black dress.
In the bedroom, the color turquoise speaks volumes...add drama in a turquoise headboard or a bit of whimsy in a turquoise shell chandelier.  The options are endless; the ideas inspiring.

Burt Bees Eye Creme...with Magical Royal Jelly

Royal Jelly...need I say more?
Royal Jelly is said to be a precursor of collagen.
Collagen is an anti-aging element that keeps the skin
looking smooth and youthful.
I purchased Burt Bees' eye cream last week, and so far, I truly love it. You can purchase Burt Bees almost anywhere. I've seen it at Vons, Target, Sears, and online.
