Magnificent Monday

{click on images to see source}

On this Magnificent Monday I'm thinking ...no, dreaming...of all beautiful things. I find myself imagining the perfect room, and after spending much of my time scouring through design magazines and design websites, I've learned that every room needs a piece of  "jewelery". It is that piece of "jewelery" that will finish off the space. My favorite pieces to add...or see... in any posh space is an elegant Venetian mirror; or a chic nail head side table / ottoman; or a trendy white cow hide; or, a chic chandelier. Any of these would be the perfect finishing piece to any room; but more importantly, any of these pieces would elevate a space into the realm of design "chic-ness".

Olay...An Oldie, But A Goodie.

Oil of Olay has been around a long time...a SUPER long time. I remember seeing my grandmother's bottle of Oil of Olay on her dresser. Today, Oil of Olay has expanded. They now have fantastic body washes and body lotions. And, I for one am super ecstatic. I've been using the body wash and body lotion for about two months now, and I love the results. I find my skin a lot smoother and softer...and because it is a lot smoother...it seems to glow just a bit more than usual.

The day after Thanksgiving is infamously known as Black Friday...Thousands hit shops in hopes to find that sought after item at a great price. Some may be looking for that last home item that will finish off the master bedroom or living room. So to lend to the madness, I thought it fitting to post an inspirational piece. And, I truly found inspiration in Joel Mchale's Hollywood Hills home. Here are only two pics of his chic home, but you can devour the entire spread in the InStyle magazine. Happy Shopping to all those brave shoppers on this Black Friday.

Crate a La' Nate

On Tuesday's episode of The Nate Berkus show, a gracious woman from Boston was bestowed with great design ideas and items from Mr. Berkus. Two items nestled in that big crate, that caught my eye, were  a gold-leaf sunburst mirror and a nailhead side table. The space was filled with the usual items such as a couch, curtains, and some art on the wall, but all were in really muted earth tones. However, with the incorporation of these two chic items, the space was lifted to a whole new level of style and awesomeness.  Here are some examples of a sunburst mirror and nailhead side table anyone can incorporate in any space:

Where I Slumber Part II

Back In June, I posted pics of my bedroom . To check out the June post go here. Recently, I've made new additions. Check them out...and please let me know what you think. I'm always open for suggestions.

 {all images via my blackberry}
As you can see, I've only added a few items: two mercury glass lamps with gray lampshades; two marble decorative plates on each side table; two white, leather ottomans, and a gray "Keep Calm and Carry On".

That mirror is one gorgeous statement piece. It brings the entire space to a new level of romantic and elegant design. I will now look at a huge mirror differently.

A Queen In The Making...On This Magnificent Monday.

{via instyle}
Kate Middleton has now entered the spotlight and is never leaving. It seems we, Americans, are obsessed with the royals. Well, let me correct myself: some of us our seemingly obsessed. I for one am not. However, I do acknowledge the fact that she has now become one to watch in terms of what is or will become chic. So because her decisions, when it come to what she wears, what she does, what she says, where she'll live, how she'll live...etc...will be scrutinized and possibly deemed the "thing to do" simply because of who she has NOW become, I think she is worthy of following...from time to time.

On this simple Sunday, I found inspiration in this magnificent headboard. It is the perfect piece of jewelery for the bedroom.

Freedom Friday...Live Freely...Live Inspired.

{via my blackberry}

I love my new chunky ring. It is a perfect brown in acrylic with a gold outline to emphasize the quartz looking glass and the dome of the ring. It is perfect for a casual day or a night out. I've been wearing it straight for three days now, and it truly brings me happiness.

And when you can't find inspiration anywhere else...find it in a lovely outfit..such as BCBG Max Azaria's Dark Ink Romper...which I scored a few weeks ago at TJ Maxx for a mere $39.00 (before taxes); it retails for $188.00.

The Bomber Jacket....Always Chic

 {images via different sources; click on image to see source}

I must confess: I own about 10 bomber jackets. The bomber jacket is a secret weapon when adding a bit of edginess to any ensemble. Running late and need something to polish your sweats and healed sandals? Throw on a twill or leather bomber jacket and you will be more than ready to go....Most importantly, you'll have the perfect amount of edginess to look killer.

New York Lofts

If you love tons of light and no barriers, then you love a loft. I've never lived in a loft, but they completely appeal to me. I think the idea of siting in any room...be it the kitchen,living room, or home office...and having a panoramic view of all your gorgeous belongings and their beauty...is perfect happiness. And although the above examples are somewhat scarce, when it comes to decor and warmth, the space is naturally awe-inspiring. P.S. The third pic is that of Gerard Butler's loft. His loft got a lot of slack when it was first unveiled...rightly so...but this shot looks beautiful ...So, after seeing this shot, I started wondering that maybe the angles, of the other rooms, used to take the shots were not the best choices (?)
