Studio City, California

Dwell.com is featuring a magnificent, modern home in Studio City, California. I am the first to admit, I usually am not drawn to modern architecture but the designer's/architect's ingenuity truly caught my eye. Even though it exudes modernity, it is infused with warmth and elegance. Here is what I love about this home: the landscaping and outside facade compliment each other perfectly...the California natives sit hand in hand with the clean lines and different textures of the home's structure. The interior is not only practical but inviting with a sense of elegance...I love the mercury looking, singular pendant...it stands as if a piece of art all on it's own. Then you move into a small sitting area and in the backdrop are two massive aqua-glass looking doors. These too are a piece of art and truly adds a sense of grandeur to the entire space. Strategically placed pieces, such as the lucite chairs and modern/chic chandelier, pull the modernity and practicality of the home together and onto the next level: chic. The bathroom is spa-like...and I love the use of marble on the floor and to enclose the bathtub because again, even though the space is practical, the marble takes it to the next level. What do ya guys think?
